Once you get close, one of the NCR troopers at the sandbags should tell you that you’ve made it far enough and that you can just drop him off with them. Try to keep him off of the ground, since dragging him will probably slow you down more than just carrying him. Pick up Ranger Morales’ Body and drag him back to the two NCR troopers by the sandbags. Once the snipers are dead and you can find a clear path to the body, walk up and use the “Z” key to grab him. There are a few bear traps, shotgun traps and potentially mines (I don’t remember seeing many, but i may have just set them off without realizing it during the fight). Walk carefully once you reach the area around the body. Melee and unarmed characters should probably close the distance and engage them with a 9mm pistol. Then again, Boone is practically an “easy button” so that’s no surprise. Note that if you have Boone with you he’ll probably drop all of them before you can even get your sights lined up. See if you can pick them off as you approach. Approach carefully with a rifle and open fire. There are several Fiends on the rooftops around the body. I had no problems just fast traveling to REPConn HQ and grabbing the body, but it’s a good idea to make sure that the scripts fire right, especially for an unmarked quest with something as tricky as detecting an object that you’re “carrying.” Getting Ranger Morales' Body You should probably talk to them to make sure that the quest doesn’t bug out.
Walk down from the north and look for the two soldiers watching the area by the train tracks. The body will receive it’s own map marker and spawn in the world, along with a scripted ambush, right next to the Repconn HQ. You can volunteer to help either out of the goodness of your heart or for her small reward of about 50 caps. If you go into the main Concourse of the airport (second floor, back of the terminal that you can enter from the main camp), then you can find a crying woman sitting in the chairs along the main path.Ĭhristina Morales wants the NCR to retrieve her husband’s body, but the Fiends are waiting to ambush whoever comes to get it and they can only spare two men to keep an eye on the situation. Part of the fun of a Fallout game is exploring the vast world and having adventures, so there's no need to rush to get to Vault 13 anyway. This is an unmarked NCR quest that you can pick up inside Camp McCarren. Sadly, players can't just stumble onto Vault 13's entrance by exploration, and it has to be added to the Fallout 2 map first.
Finding the location of Vault 13 is one thing, but what players find inside opens up a new world of craziness. The final option is to go to Vault 15, where a computer room on level 3 can be hacked - so long as players have a high enough science skill. If players have 100% on their Outdoorsman skill, they'll be able to hunt down the Deathclaws behind the raids straight to Vault 13. The second is to work for Sheriff Dumont and accept the quest to stop the brahmin raids. Bob will reveal Doc Jubilee stole his map to Vault 13, so The Chosen One can later talk to the doctor and if he buys his Elvis painting, the map will be found hidden inside. The first method involves giving a drink to a character called Saltbeef Bob at Roger Westin's ranch. There are a few ways to unlock its location.
Of course, the first thing players need to do is actually find Vault 13, which isn't displayed on the Fallout 2 map. The sequel takes place 80 years after the first game, where The Chosen One - the descendant of Fallout's original hero - is tasked with finding Vault 13 to retrieve a device called the GECK that could save their dying village. While a rushed development period led to some bugs, the sequel also introduced the franchise's warped sense of humor. The game was considered a big improvement on the first Fallout, telling a more ambitious story, in addition to gameplay improvements and a larger map. This title proved to be somewhat controversial, as while it introduced a bigger audience to the franchise, the changes it brought to the series irritated fans of the original games.
Bethesda Softworks ( Skyrim) took over the franchise starting with 2008's Fallout 3. There have been action heavy spinoffs like Fallout: Brotherhood Of Steel and the multiplayer shenanigans of 2018's Fallout 76.
MAP OF THE NCR FALLOUT SERIES
The original Fallout was released in 1997 and the series has branched out in unique - and bizarre - ways ever since. The series is typically made up of role-playing action, where players have to explore a vast open world and battle raiders, mutated creatures and the unforgiving landscape itself. Fallout is a franchise that casts players as the survivor of a nuclear war, who emerges from an underground vault decades later and must learn to survive the bleak new world. Here's how players can find the elusive Vault 13 on the vast Fallout 2 map.
